Cutest photo to adorable carved Night Light - Mother's day gift

We received this photo from Karen, one of our loyal customers, and had to share it.

When we asked about the photo, Karen wrote " A dear friend of mine's daughter had a second child this year and shared this touching photo of big brother kissing and welcoming his newborn baby sister. The photo is soooo sweet and heartwarming.  My first thought when I saw it was that it would make the PERFECT Light Affection Nightlight. I gave it to my friend as a "grandmother's" gift with hopes that it would be a blessing to her and help her feel close to her grandchildren when they are apart. I have been giving Light Affection gifts for several years:  to celebrate newborns, new homes, weddings, anniversaries.  We even have one of our boat. They make wonderful, unique and meaningful commemorative gifts."

Pet loss gift

Losing a pet isn't easy. When someone close to you loses a pet you want to do something but it isn't easy to figure out what to do. The best thing is to let them know you are thinking of them and support them during their time of grief.
Here at Light affection we often get orders for lights based on photos of pets who passed away. Jackie ordered a Night light and wrote "I sent this lighted photo to my dad and stepmom. It's of their beloved Yorkie, Daisy. Unfortunately, she had to be put to sleep as she was very old and her health had failed her. This is one of the last photos taken of her and I wanted to remind them of happier times. They absolutely loved the light. When someone loses a pet, this makes for a very wonderful gift! Thanks for offering such a great product!"

What to do with traveling photos?

We received this photo to make our personalized large photo table top lamp based of. We love the idea of using photos from traveling so we asked about this photo and lamp. Our customer wrote "The picture was taken in front of the Byodo-In Temple on Oahu in Hawaii. It’s myself and my now fiancé Christina. The picture (which came out great by the way) was for her birthday. She has it above our nightstand and uses it constantly. " We love the idea of going to bed and waking up with memories of Hawaii.

Valentine's Day gift for her

We thought this couple's photo was adorable! it is so sweet and real.

Nicolas ordered this lamp before Valentine’s day and he writes “In the picture it is me and my girlfriend Rachel, we are in Florida on vacation enjoying the early morning. It was given to her for valentines day, and currently sits on our night stand next to our bed. She loved it and it is a very cherished item.” We are thrilled to hear the Valentine’s Day gift for her was a success.

Sister to Sister gift

Giving a gift to a sister is a very personal thing. So what could be better than a photo gift?

Choosing the photo isn't always easy but it could be photo from your childhood, photo of your parents when they where young, photo of a vacation or house with lot's of memories.

Here is a photo that one of our customers used as a gift for her sister. She used a photo of the sister and her family. In her words ". That's my sister, brother-in-law and nephew in the picture and because she loves these two people most in the world"

In memory of a mentor

Once in a while we receive photos that peak our curiosity. They feel they have a whole story behind them. This one is one of those.

It turns out this was a gift from Cristen who ordered the Night Light for a friend who's grandfather and mentor recently passed away. She shared with us that they had a special bond. The friend has been shooting a documentary about the 93 year old for the last year revolving around the bucket-list and the importance of living every day to it's fullest potential.

Cristen wrote about ordering the Night Light "I thought it would be a nice reminder of the guardian angel he now has watching over him allowing him to shine his light on for the world to see".

We, at Light Affection hope that the Night Light brings back the memory and warmth of the moment in time the photo was taken.

In memory of loved dogs

In the last month we have received a few orders for Night Lights based on adorable dog photos.

In both of these cases the dogs past away which gives it a whole new meaning. Losing a pet that has been with you for a while and been part of your family is never easy and leaves a void. I still remember losing my first dog when I was a pre-teen. We got him from a pound and right away we fell in love. He was a gentle soul and it was obvious that he felt the love and appreciated it. I guess he was sick when we brought him home and after a while it just took over. It was very hard for me to consider another dog after that (it was too painful) but eventually my parents got a new dog and we enjoyed his company for many years. I still look at photos of him and smile. A gentle giant is the best way to describe him.
I do hope these Night Lights bring some comfort to the owners and let the memories warm their hearts.
